You don’t have to get a job that makes others feel comfortable about what they perceive as your success. You don’t have to explain what you plan to do with your life. You don’t have to justify your education by demonstrating its financial rewards.

-Cheryl Strand

  1. I love that quote - it has special meaning in my life at the moment, too. Her book "Wild" is on my reading list...! Thanks for sharing.

  2. Wow. This really hit me between the eyes this morning. I have an MBA and have always felt like I had to push myself into jobs that made more...did more... when all I really want to do at this time in my life (almost 52) is find a cabin in the woods and write for pleasure, take pictures of the things I love, cook for my husband, and nest. I'm in a job where I feel unfulfilled, and just turned down a job across country because we just couldn't get there on our paycheck to paycheck budget... a job that would have put more stress on my shoulders than I could have held.
