NAILED IT - POP ART MANICURE

Over the weekend, I worked on three separate DIYs to show you guys, some were easier, some frustrated me a bit more, so I decided to take a break, watch 15 episodes of The Mindy Project, and paint my nails.

I knew I wanted to go bright and poppy, and at some point I took that train to Literal Town and ended up with these Lichtenstein / Haring / Warhol inspired nails, which I kind of ended up loving.

For the small details, I used a fine paintbrush, or a fine-tipped Sharpie (like for the lines on Keith Haring nail, or the dots on the Lichtenstein face). For the banana, I painted yellow polish on a piece of scotch tape, cut out a rough banana shape and stuck it down to my nail, adding the details before painting over the makeshift decal with a topcoat to keep it in place.

These two guys are totally my favorites, though.

  1. Oh man! That's impressive. I watched two episodes of the Mindy Project and drank a beer this weekend. And that's it.

  3. these are awesome! I'm glad you included the picture of the fake nails on their own, or else i would have felt like a total fucking failure because i can't paint my nails like that. it's much easier when they're not on your body. :)
