Holidays through my iPhone

My Fourth of July was not spent making patriotic cupcakes, or sparkler-themed crafts. My Fourth of July was spent drinking gin and playing with puppies, just as our founding fathers intended. ("Today, we celebrate our Gindependence Day")

I stopped in at a new restaurant down the street, Parson's Chicken and Fish. While I was underwhelmed by the food, I strongly encourage all of you to get the gin slushies. Following that, we just got real lazy on the Logan boulevards, napping and grilling and drinking cheap American beer. USA! USA!

Please everyone admire the original, authentic Hudson Bay point blanket that I found on Craigslist for $40. I was super stoked on it, but everyone was like "you paid $40? for a blanket? from Craigslist?" YEAH I DID, SUCKERS, SHUT UP. THE INTERNET WILL APPRECIATE IT.

So much lounging. Also, Andy and I are dogsitting this weekend, so our house is one step closer to my lifelong dream of being surrounded by more dogs than people.

Note the empty gin slushy cups. These two boys also managed to charm the waitress into giving us free pickleback shots, which while they enjoyed, I felt was more of a punishment than a gift. But, I appreciate the gesture, so thanks nice waitress!

And a little Rainbow Cone to finish things off.

I hope you also had a wonderful holiday, and that maybe you also had a little gin.

  1. Looks like you had a super fun day off! Mine was pretty laid back as well, and involved eating lots of guacamole and tacos and drinking bourbon. Gin slushies sound awesome, and yes, that blanket is an awesome find!

  2. Great CL find! And now I want a gin slushy!

  3. That Hudson Blanket is amazing! Your friends may not appreciate it, but you're right-the internet does!
I didn't drink any gin, just vodka, but with the little heat wave Seattle is having right now, a gin slushy sounds perfect right about now!

  4. I've been meaning to make it to Parsons! AND they play the Kinks, so there's that to fall in love with, too. That blanket is worth $40, so screw everyone.

  5. Awesome find on the blanket! I have my eye on one too! Super jealous!

  6. Awesome. I definitely gotta swing by Parson's to try those gin slushies. Cute dogs too!

  7. Sounds Amazing. My 4th was spent under the car port eating burgers and chips! Rained the WHOLE DAY! Boooo! PS I love the blanket!
