You're The Bees Knees - Cocktail Recipe

I've recently decided that, in my quest to become an adult, that I should start learning how to make some cocktails. You know, for if people randomly drop by (which doesn't happen in 2013, we have cell phones, but go with it), I can be like "My, this is unexpected! Can I get you a Sazerac?"

Okay, so maybe I haven't fully grasped what adulthood looks like yet.

Today we're drinking one of my faaaavorites, The Bees Knees. Its sweet, but not too sugary, tastes very fresh, and only has three ingredients. Funny enough, last night I was working on this recipe card and got so frustrated trying to teach myself Photoshop, that I ran out for a drink, and the bar was serving Bees Knees! They added club soda, which was new to me, but delicious.

I anticipate maaany more of those little trips being necessary as I teach myself how to use this bamboo table/photoshop. If you have any good online tutorials, let me know! All of them seem to be about how to draw hot naked comic book girls, which isn't really what I'm going for... Anyways, here are the fruits of my gin, sweat and tears:

If you don't have a cocktail shaker, you can mix all of the ingredients up with a spoon. Just don't expect James Bond to drink it. (Horrible joke, I apologize.) And if you're asking yourself "What's honey syrup?", it is simple syrup, made with honey! 1 part honey, one part water, heated up and stirred until they combine and become thick.

Happy Friday!
xo,
z

  1. This sounds delicious, nutritious and therapeutic, all in one charming glass. Better make mine a double, just to be on the safe side.

  6. Gin and honey are my two favorite flavors, so I had to make this one right away. Needless to say this is my new favorite drink.
