You aren't the only one who is devastated: http://qz.com/62867/google-readers-demise-is-awful-for-iranians-who-use-it-to-avoid-censorship/
oh man :( thats a much more legitimate reason. i reaaallly wish google would reconsider.
There's a petition to ask Google to reconsider, but the fatalist in me thinks it's a done deal. BUT I have started switching to Feedly, which seems to be the early favourite for replacing GReader. It used to exist to take all your Google Reader feeds and make them prettier, but with the recent announcement, they have brought their own aggregator server online and are prepared to take over completely from GReader on July 1st. At this point, I would say it's too early to panic: RSS is not going to disappear from the internet on July 1st. ;-)
I've also heard Feedly is making a method to convert your GR feeds over to their RSS feed seamlessly. We'll have to wait and see how well that works.
i'm trying feedly too, i think i may even like it better??
I really HATED bloglovin when I first tried it out, but I gave it a second run a few months ago and never looked back. It's really not too bad!JennWith Luck
i've heard this!! i'm trying both bloglovin and feedly right now to see which one i like better in preparation for the July 1 funeral!
ughhh... i freaked out a little when i got the "reader is peacing out july 1" popup this week. here's a list of alternatives. so far i'm loving feedly, but i am curious about "the old reader" but so many ppl are in queue waiting to have their feeds imported that I haven't been able to try it yet. http://list.ly/list/33u-google-reader-rss-reader-alternatives-crowdsourced-list
i need to decide between feedly and bloglovin right now!
