Cocktail Recipe- A Classic Sazerac

If you feel like switching things up a bit heading into the weekend, today we're making a classic New Orleans twist on an Old Fashioned. Made with rye or cognac, it is typically served straight up in a chilled glass, but I like it on ice because my freezer is too full of pizzas to chill glasses. 

  1. Splash absinthe into a glass, swirl to coat, and pour out any excess absinthe. 
  2. Shake together rye, bitters and sugar cube in a cocktail mixer with ice.
  3. Strain mixture into your absinthe-coated glass, and if you're feelin' fancy, garnish with a lemon twist.
