My Thanksgiving this year was full of things to be thankful for, and you guys were really putting in a concerted effort to top the list. Within one day of opening the Radical Possibility Etsy Shop, I had to cut off orders for 2012 to make sure I can get you all of your slobbery-nosed portraits in time for the holidays.
I started pricing at $10, so that I could get a feel for how long each portrait takes, how much paint, erasers, pencils, paper, brushes, etc I go through. I would love to be able to continue selling these at $10, but unfortunately after time and materials put in, it ends up being the kind of business that is a lot of work and no profit. Since I just did the first one of my family for fun, I didn't really consider that it would get a good reaction and become a business.
In the new year, all 5x7 portraits will start at $30 for up to a family of four. If you would like to add your name to the list of portraits to be shipped out in January, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
I am so grateful for all of you to helping me start this process and get it off the ground! The first round of finished portraits will be shipped on Monday!
Also, once I sat down in my office chair for six hours straight, I realized it was hardly the comfiest thing in the world, so I splurged for a new chair (and by splurged I mean bought a $40 knockoff from a warehouse by O'Hare), so for your time, here is a picture of Lucille Austero modeling the new piece.
