These are my obsessions...

I intended for you to read that subject line to the tune of Usher's 2004 masterpiece, "Confessions", by the way.

Anyways, lets take a moment to rejoice that I have power again and its now under 100 degrees in Chicago. Since I'm in such a good mood and want to strangle people a whole lot less now (heat makes me hulk rage, shredded jorts and all), let's celebrate with a few of my favorite things!

First, I got to hold one of dem babies I've constantly been talking about!! Not only is Liv awesome in her own right, but I'm also quite proud of her for quickly bypassing that newborn baby stage that I lingered in too long myself, where you look like a cross between an old man and a California Raisin.

So I recently ended a long stretch of vegetarianism for a number of reasons, and one of the perks has been getting to try foods that I haven't had in at least 10 years, if at all! Prosciutto is one of those foods, and while I don't regret being veg, I am so glad to have prosciutto in my life now. These avocado bites, adapted from a Tastespotting recipe, couldn't be easier.

Goat Cheese & Prosciutto Avocado Bites
1.) Peel and pit avocado, and cut into slices. Toss slices quickly in lemon juice to avoid browning.
2.) Take a spoonful of goat cheese and place it in the little nook left by the avocado seed.
3.) Wrap the whole thing up in prosciutto to keep it all in place.

These prints, which all focus on Chicago and its parks, harbors, libraries, architecture, and zoos! Not all of them are available right now, and even if they were, I'm not in a place where I can spend $200 on a poster, but man, they are so simple and so nice.

What are you digging lately?

  1. omg girl speaking of prosciutto, you should try it wrapped around brie and figs (when they're in season)....SO GOOD tbh

  2. Try some Bacon wrapped green beans! Bake 'em in the oven!

  3. Those avocado bites are tantalizing. I am SO going to make some for my sister and I to enjoy while we are at the cottage next week.
Ooh... Bacon wrapped green beans... trying those too!!!
