When I dip you dip we dip... Dip Dyed Planters, etc

I'm currently working on a bit larger project (which literally entails watching paint dry) so in the meantime, here are a few projects I did yesterday that actually serve as a preview of what's to come:

Neon dip-dyed pots. I bought some seedling starter kits from Target (basil and parsley!) for $1 each, and nabbed some plain pots from the dollar section as well and took some neon pink paint from the acrylic craft section at Joanns to the bottoms. Total cost - $5 for plants, pots, paints

Neon dip-dyed door number. Our apartment isn't marked, and honestly, it doesn't really need to be, but I found this #2 for $1.50 and decided to take some highlighter-yellow acrylic paint (also from Joanns) to it.  Total cost - $2.50 for number and paint.

I found that for the actual painting, a 1" foam brush works best, then I took a cheapy thin synthetic brush to clean up the edges.

Happy Sunday, y'all.

  1. I've been lovin your new craft stuff - you're making me love the neutral + neon trend going on

  2. love this! ahh!
